The Monastery of Osios Loukas is located 36 km south of Delphi. It is built on the west slopes of Mount Helikon, below the acropolis of the ancient town, Stiri. The monastery is dedicated to Osios Loukas of Stiri (896-965 A.D.) and is one of the most important architectural monuments of the Middle Byzantine era. It is also included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
